Apparently we aren't allowed to have pools where we live. I spent $90.00 on a pool a few weeks ago and set it up the backyard. We put a screened in tent over the pool so it's not so obvious. The lady a few houses down has one just like ours, only a little bigger. My kids go over and swim in hers all the time, yet they've only been in ours once. Anyway, a few weeks ago she got a call from the office saying she has to take the pool down. She thought it was B.S. so she left it. They said it's a liability. They said a kid can come over and get hurt or worse, drown. The way I look at it is that the kid shouldn't be in my yard! People have the big trampolines, aren't those a liability? Today the lady got a letter from the office saying the pool has to be down by tomorrow or they will take "further action". What are they going to do? Take it down for her? Fine her for every day she leaves it up? I know somebody (her cranky old man neighbor) complained. When there is a complaint, they have to act on it. I know it's a matter of time before they tell me mine has to come down too. One of the ladies from the office was at our house the other day dropping off some paperwork and not one word was said about my pool. It can't be seen from the road, but it can be seen from the porch, where she was. The lady a few houses down is so mad right now! She called the office and left a nasty message about it. I also gave her the phone number to corporate. Her fiance is out of town for now so she won't take it down until he comes back. It'll be interesting to see what happens on Monday (they're closed on the weekend) when her pool is still up. If they make me take my pool down, I'm going to go around the neighborhood and write down EVERY violation I see and write a letter about it. Since it'll be a complaint, they'll have to act upon it. Bring it on!!! Current Mood: devious
